Chefgood are a subsidiary of the larger global Marley Spoon company. They prepare high quality pre-made gourmet foods handcrafted by expert chefs to cater for all customers including special dietary needs.

A consultant who has used Rhima equipment before and recommends it approached us about supplying Chefgood with a washer to suit their new facility. They were expanding and needed something bigger, faster and with a higher throughput. The existing old site was visited to take photos and measurement of the items washed using the current systems. That site was already struggling with keeping up with the demands of the kitchen and it was only going to get busier at the new site. We discussed with the consultant our findings and the applications and recommended a solution for Chefgood. At their old site they were using pass-through systems. They were washing tubs, trays, utensils, bowls, etc, and wash the same at the new site.

Once finalised we invited the decision makers to have a look at the new system in our warehouse and put it through its paces.

Now all items go through the RC-301 (previously the VX-301 crate conveyor washer). To improve workflow the addition of the optional 180° return module was introduced. This allows a single end user to load and unload items at the same loading point. Saving on time, handling, and relocating labour that can be utilised elsewhere in the production process to improve productivity.

The RC-301 and 180° return is now used non stop in the new facility, end users are happy with its performance and speed.

“The installation of the Rhima RC-301 Crate Washer couldn’t have come at a better time, the growth that we’ve experienced required a high throughput, reliable unit. The post sale support and service has been good, which was also a driving factor on our decision to work with the Rhima team.” – Jared Simeti, General Manager Operations, Chefgood
